455ci 2bbl 174hp but no unwanted emissions!
Also surprised all the hubcaps stayed on.

Talk about damning with faint praise. Still, I love this boat.

I had a 76 Delta 88 in the early 80s. Still miss it. Didn’t feel slow back then but damn have we come a long ways since then.

That was a horror show, but at least it stopped in a straight line. You couldn't say that very often in the days of drums and no ABS.

We had a 55 mph national speed limit. A whole different world back then.

Last of the dinosaurs, a mere 3 years later this would be considered something of the past, and many of these barely made it past 10 years old . Looks to be on bias ply tires, too.
Funny remark about the mpg being the same no matter the driving style. I’ve seen many old cars like that. I remember the 66 Galaxie I drove when I was 16 was similar, would get about 12 no matter if you drove like a maniac or drove as timidly as a typical eastsider here.

Good point. I don’t miss driving stuff like this in the winter either.
Im looking at you 78 cougar that couldn't get up a slight hill with 2 inches of snow.

It sure sounds like bias ply tires.
Oddly enough my old crown vic p71 was like that. 18 to 19mpg babying it or 17 to 18mpg doing 80.

Looked like them too. To be fair, it braked a lot better than expected.
People who complain about modern cars should look at this stuff. ABS has to be one of the most important advancements in history.
